Social inequality
Hello everyone! The social issue I
would like to talk about is the gender inequality between women and men,
without forgetting that this affects and relates to many other things such as
disability, race and age (they can affect the way a person is treated) and even
affects the LGTBQ+ community.
Unfortunately, inequality between
men and women is structural in our society. There are many situations that we
constantly see in our daily lives of inequality between men and women.
Some examples are that a women in a job is not always treated
the same as a men. Since the average annual salary of a women is 22,17% lower than
that of a men. There is also a distinction between the number or working hours
and pensions.
How can we reduce the gender
inequality? In recent years it seems that this gender inequality “gap” is
gradually narrowing, although much remains to be done. Educating on gender
equality in childhood could help prevent inequality in the future. Why do we
continue to perpetuate gender stereotypes instead of promoting equality between
boys and girls? Society continues associate roles to boys and girls, there are
behaviors that are not valid if you are a girl, each gender is presupposed a
certain behavior. Society expect a way of being, an appearance or clothing
defined by gender, even in sport something similar happens.
It is important that al lof us (men and women) are aware of situations
like the ones mentioned above.
I think it is an issue to pay attention to and seek equity and not the superiority of one gender over the other.
ResponderEliminarI think this issue is very important to address and I hope that in the near future inequalities will be reduced even more and we can all live on equal terms.
ResponderEliminarThis problem is very important and affects a lot, we must solve it as soon as possible
ResponderEliminarAs you say, we should start talking about this issue from a young age, since we are in school since it is at that stage when adults begin to make the differences between boys and girls
ResponderEliminarThe solution is as complex as the problem, but I really hope to find a solution soon.
ResponderEliminarI think this goes beyond "men" and "women", there is a whole spectrum, if we didn't classify everything within these two genders there wouldn't be so much inequality.
